Graphene

Project overview
Graphene, two dimensional nano crystal constituted by one atom thick carbon atoms, shows excellent mechanical, thermal, optical and electrical properties. Broad application prospects have been emerged in electrode materials, catalysts, functional slurries and composites. Graphene has been listed in the 13th Five-year Plan of the new material industry. Its large-scale application will generate subversive changes in information, transportation, aerospace and new energy industry.

Technical Content

First, graphite oxide prepared via modified Hummers method using natural graphite as raw material. After multiple purifications and drying, graphite oxide powder is obtained. Finally, thermal expansion and gradient carbonization are employed to acquire high-quality graphene powder.

Advantages

The batch stable production of high quality graphene can be achieved by using advanced continuous separation, purification and expansion, carbonization process of graphite oxide. The product has the advantages of high purity and large specific surface area. By the third party evaluation, the product index is far ahead in China. The technique passed the scientific achievement appraisal organized by Shanxi Science and Technology Bureau in 2016, and was affirmed to reach the international advanced level.

Preliminary Application

Large-scale graphene products have been used in supercapacitor, conductive ink, grinding tool and modified polymer.

Economic Evaluation

The BCC in America predicted that the global market of graphene products would increase to $ 2 billion in 2023. The fixed investment of this technology is about ¥100 million. After the completion of the project, the cost of graphene will reduce to ¥3000 per kilogram. The annual profit will reach to ¥50 million. Therefore, the investment could be recouped within 3 years.
